Biography:
She was born as a Sandra Lauer in may 18th 1962 in Saarbrücken Germany as a 2nd child of German Karin and the
french born Robert. As young girl Sandra shared a room with her 2 year older brother Gaston.
During her childhood years Sandra did get a guitar lessons from the music teacher. Later she also
attended a classic ballet 3 hours sets and she keep them for 10 years! She even performed in the local
dance theatre.
Her musican talents saw the daylight for the very first time when she took part in child song contest
with a Olivia Newton John song. Then she was discovered by a George Roman in 1976 who wrote her
first single "Andy Mein Freund".
As a 16 years old, after signing the contract by her parents she joined Her parents signed in 1979 the
contract with which she as 16 year old girl could join the girl-trio "Arabesque" as lead singer.

In Japan "Arabesque" was as famous as Abba was in Europe during that time. From 1979 until 1985
they had released in Japan 15 LP´s, 30 singles and a CD!
Despite huge success in Japan Arabesque couldn't break into the top charts in Europe.
They managed to release 6 LPs and 13 singles.
Especially Sandra became the eye-catcher of "Arabesque" dressed in tide shirts and little
skirts or wore typical 70´s erotic disco-lady´s suits.
After the split of "Arabesque" there came begin 1985 a solo record on the market "Japan Ist Weit"
(the German version of Alphaville´s "Big In Japan").
This single didn't become a success but the most important thing was that she started full cooperation with her
boyfriend met during Arabesue years - Romanian native Micheal Cretu. He was known from the acts like Boney M. and
Peter Kent and he made a great team around Sandra.
In 1985 they started with the 1st new born Sandra team and their first single.
It´s the singer and songwriter Hubert Kemmler (from the band "Hubert KaH") who came up with the idea to name
the song after the bible figure "Maria Magdalena".
The record becomes a gigantic success. In 21 countries all over the world it reached nr1 position !!!
In many more the record reached Top 10 also!
Year later she get the 2nd place in Japan with her new song "In The Heat Of The Night"
During that times she played in many concerts around the Europe and also took part in many TV shows.
Meanwhile she married at January 7th 1988 with Michael Cretu and went with complete recording studio and the
whole team to live on the Spanish island Ibiza.
At July 6th 1995 Sandra gave birth to a twin - two lovely children named Nikita and Sebastian.
After that she took part in her husband "Enigma" project.
She is still releasing some music material from time to time and although her new songs havr never reached such a
big attention like it was back in 80's, her fans still love her and the new born album "The Wheel Of Time" was
made especially for them.
