Biography:
Papa Dance, the first Polish Italolike band were formed in 1984 by Sławomir Wesołowski and Mariusz Zabrodzki. At first band named Papa Doc, but fastly the name was changed and they released first single: "W 40 Dni Dookoła ¦wiata". Members of group was: Grzegorz Wawrzyszak (keyboards, vocal), Tadeusz Łyskawa (drums), Konstanty Yoriadis (keyboards, vocal), Marek Kaczmarek (keyboards, vocal), Krzysztof Kasprzyk (keyboards, vocal). First single got the biggest success in Poland. In 1985 they released first LP named "Papa Dance". They seld 50.000 discs. In this same year Papa Dance broke. From the old members played only Konstanty Yoriadis featuring new vocalist: Paweł Stasiak. Rest members found group "Ex-Dance". In 1986 with band appeared: Paweł Stasiak (vocal), Konstanty Dinos (vocal, keyboards), Waldemar Kuleczka (bass, vocal), Jacek Szewczyk (guitar, vocal), Andrzej Zieliński (keyboards, vocal), Tadeusz Łyskawa (drums, vocal). In summer of 1986 they released second LP "Poniżej Krytyki" with songs: "Ocean Wspomnień", "O-La-La", "Maxi-Singiel" or probably the most popular song of them "Naj Story". This first song got title "Song Of 1986" in Poland. They won in a lot of polish contests in radio, television, press. The band left Konstanty Dinos and from this time they played in five. In 1988 they released third LP "Nasz Ziemski Eden" featuring songs: "Nasz Disneyland" or "Nietykalni". On this album appeared special guest: Anna Jurksztowicz – polish singer. In 1990 Jacek Szewczyk left band and new guitarist stayed Edmund Stasiak (also member of Lady Pank or Emigranci) They went to USA, where gave some concerts and recorded LP "The Best Of" with the best songs of Papa Dance and one news songs, "Fires in your eyes", which they recorded in english. In December of 1990 band was crashing. Paweł Stasiak back to Poland and began solo career as Mr.Dance. After 12 years Papa Dance again found. At began they played in quartett (Stasiak, Szewczyk, Łyskawa, Zieliński). In 2003 also Waldemar Kuleczka back to band. They released two singles "Wszystko się zdaży na plaży" and "Zwykła Historia". In autumn of 2003 was releasing album "Złota Kolekcja – Naj Story" with the best songs of Papa Dance (song perfomed by first members and second). With this compilation band back and it was loudly about them. Now they play in six: Paweł Stasiak (vocal), Waldemar Kuleczka (guitar, vocal), Marcin Tywoniuk (keyboards, vocal), Jacek Szewczyk (guitar, vocal), Tadeusz Łyskawa (drums, vocal), Dariusz Piskorz (percussion). Marcin is playing on keyboards with band, because Andrzej Zieliński is in USA, now. In autumn 2004 they wants to release new album.
